Self-Reflection for my blog
Hey, this is koolpop_24, giving my reflection about my blog. Here it is:
- The purpose of this fascinating blogging activity is to fulfill our writing with our favorite topic, and write until you have no more ideas left. For example, I used to hate what to write about; the souk, Wikispaces, etc., but this is the only one I had fun doing this whole year, despite its requirements. Also I wrote about sports, which I’m really good at, despite having a great academic progress. I really used most of my time in order to finish the blog I would make. Besides, I think that blogging is way better than Wikispaces. On Wikispaces, you have to go to a website, but in blogging you have your own website. I think that Ms. Rumford when picking blogging because when focusing on traditional activities, you need to learn new things. In blogging, however, you can use all you learned in order to create this work and it will be shown into the world, and people will start commenting on your work, putting it on their own blog, and even (if you’re lucky), might give you a job for journalism!!! With traditional activities, it will be only within school limits (unless it was really good so they showed it to some of their friends and etc.). Also most people don’t know most of the traditional activities except the origins of these traditional activities (like Haiku).
- I have accomplished two main things since I started blogging. Here is my two main things:
First, I have increased my word limits. Instead of writing at least 200 words, I have increased it about 900 words. I have become better in my writing rather than becoming worse. I have also become more flexible in my writing, writing all types of sentences in my blog and in my class like compound-complex, compound, complex, and etc.
Finally, I have increased my devotion to writing. Before, I was writing for nothing, and because of my blog, “sports”, I have started to like writing about my favorite sports like basketball, wrestling, tennis, and soccer. My writing has become much better than before when I came to ASD. At first, I have no intention to write. After a few months, I started to write my blog everyday, especially in other core subjects and world languages.
- There are three main things I learned about key concepts:
First, you must always have a topic and always stick to it. I have done that in the past and recently too, although I didn’t do that in my souk draft. My topic is easy to make because I have two or three topics in my blog, so it’s very easy to organize, but I sometimes get off topic. For example, it was extremely hard when I had to stay topic in my poem about migrant workers. It was especially hard to make one.
Second, you must always have an idea in mind. I always have an idea in my mind unless I am in a bit of a hurry. I really love doing this, despite my hatred for writing. Creating these ideas were very easy because of all the hard work and research put into it. Besides, you needed research to create ideas for my or anyone’s blog.
Finally, you must always put voice into your writing. Without it, it will make your blog a failure as if something was missing inside of it. Creating your voice inside your blog or post is essential when a grades count on your academic progress. Usually, writing blogs is just like writing an essay, with all things needed like complete sentences and etc.
- There are three main things that have benefited me in this blog in the future. Here they are:
First and foremost, my experience in essays and blogs would help me greatly in my NJHS essay since I will talk mostly about leadership and excellence in academic progress. The essay experience would also help me in U.S. History because of all the recent letters and short essays this year. It might also help me when I start to write an essay to enter a college one day.
Second, with my recent learning of blogs, I can start portraying my style of writing in future jobs. For example, if I become a journalist, I might need the blog in order to accomplish an article in the newspaper or magazine. If I become a reporter (I guess a journalist too), you might need to make a speech with research so you can tell everyone in the world, what’s happening at the moment, despite having no interest in journalism.
Finally, my observations on research will really help me in projects or background information. For example, I had a extremely hard time researching enough data to find out his own background information to achieve a good, fine, or a great grade for my project. With simulations, you also need a lot of background information in order to find out how he talks, what is his personality, etc.
This is my reflection for the quarter
Bye Bye!!!
